The support from the world of boxing for the WBC Greatest Fights Opus Ukraine Edition is above and beyond our wildest expectations.

In just 4 days the bids were rolling into Bonham’s auction house and on the night of the Fury v Whyte fight at Wembley Stadium the highest bid stood at $130,000 for the Ukraine Appeal.

Ever willing to promote the cause and show support for the people of Ukraine, Frank Warren arranged for the Opus to have its own ring walk and to be presented to the 94,000 fans inside the stadium and to the millions of viewers watching around the world before the fighters entered the ring.

The atmosphere was fever pitch as the Opus was introduced to the fans. Scott Welch, Chairman of WBC Cares UK carried the Opus itself and was accompanied by WBC President, Mauricio Sulaimán and the Opus Team.

As the Opus made its way into the ring the crowd cheered as a message from Wladimir Klitschko was played on the giant screen. The former heavyweight champion thanked the UK fans for supporting Ukraine in its time of need as the fans continued to applaud both him and the Opus, adorned in the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

The Opus was held aloft for one last cheer before exiting the ring. It was a moment of pure adrenaline to have the WBC Greatest Fights Opus presented to the world at such an historic sporting occasion a moment that will be cherished by the Opus team and ultimately help the people of Ukraine in their daily struggles.
