Fast Cars & Rock n Roll – Gordon Murray

Gordon Murray CBE sat back in his chair and smiled, “Looking back I feel lucky, it’s been a dream. Fast cars and rock n roll.” 

He summarised in a single phrase a career that saw him win numerous Formula 1 Championships and have lifelong friendships with stars like Eric Clapton and the late George Harrison.

The Opus team were at the Gordon Murray Design Headquarters in Guilford to both interview and present the design guru with his very own Ecclestone Formula One Collection Opus.

Gordon was impressed by the size and presence of the Opus as it sat proudly on his boardroom table. The Opus includes several essays that Gordon contributed about the design and development of the Brabham-Alfa BT46B, Brabham-Ford BT49 and the Brabham-Ford BT52, which are all featured in the Opus.
