Captains Create History in Cape Town
A once-in-a-lifetime gathering of South Africa Test captains took place in Cape Town last week, to celebrate the announcement of a major new rugby museum, The Springbok Experience at the V&A Waterfront. The national team captains from all of South African rugby’s diverse traditions, from Francois Pienaar to Welile “Bomza” Nkhola, shared experiences from their playing days with each other over lunch and then took time to create even more history, by signing The National Captains’ Signature sheet.
Each captain in attendance signed the specially produced signature sheets that will be hand sewn exclusively into The Official Springbok Opus National Captains’ Edition. At the end of the afternoon the sheets were covered with the autographs of legends and will go down in history as one of the most desired pieces of memorabilia in South African Rugby history.
