Congratulations to our Opus Ambassador Sachin Tendulkar on another momentous week in his stellar career.

On Sunday 15 November, our man completed 20 years in international cricket and, five days later, he celebrated in typical style by passing 30,000 international runs on his way to yet another Test century, this time against Sri Lanka, in the First Test at Ahmenabad.

Keen-eyed viewers will also have noticed that Sachin’s 43rd Test hundred was scored using a bat with his new personal logo, which was created for him by the Opus design team. The ‘ST’ graphic is set to become as familiar as the official motifs of Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and other fellow superstars over the coming years as ‘the Tendulkar brand’ continues to grow.

Sachin becomes the first Indian, and the 16th player in the history of the game, to have a career spanning more than two decades. And the Test and One Day International (ODI) statistics of the batting maestro, who made his Test debut as a 16-year-old prodigy against Pakistan in Karachi back in November, 1989, are simply staggering.

‘The Little Master’ is the leading run scorer in Test cricket history, having now amassed 12,877 runs in 160 Test matches, including 43 centuries and 53 half-centuries at an average of 54.79. Meanwhile in ODIs, he is the only batsman in the history of the game to score over 17,000 runs, with 17,178 from 436 matches, including 45 tons.

Aged 36, Sachin’s skills and love for cricket shows no sign of diminishing and he looks set to extend his many records before contemplating retirement.

His entire career will be captured in the forthcoming Tendulkar Opus. For more information, please visit www.Tendulkaropus.com
